Zaid studied the human before him, mulling over his options. It would be simpler to speak to Amery when he was at the same level. And to explain how it would be easier to teach him to swim in a form that could not simply stand in most bodies of water. As a dragon, he disliked the water. But as a human? Sometimes it was the only way to escape the harsh desert heat.

"You seem like a human capable of being trusted."

It was both a statement and a question. The hesitance lingering at the end as he studied Amery. Could he trust him?
